A minor in Agricultural Information Technology provides students with the knowledge and skills to apply technology tools to agriculture, natural resources, and life-science related problems. Students will also work in multidisciplinary teams that focus on the use and development of IT products for industry, research, teaching and extension.
This minor introduces many IT topics, most covered only in more specialized courses. Students can learn to apply a variety of tools including expert systems, database systems, multimedia, statistical, and optimization techniques to analyze and solve problems in agriculture and natural resources, and explore the use of sensors in physical and biological systems and their use in networked computer control and data acquisition systems.

To obtain a minor the student must successfully complete a total of 15 credit hours the following courses.
